is Malaysian and currently in Kuala Lumpur.

Malaysian born, UK bred. Loves football, hiking and travel adventures, and solving human-centred problems.

Having tried his hand at a wide variety of industries such as marketing, accounting, media and underwater vehicles for both multinationals and small start-ups Hiong found his calling with a small Malaysian company that specialised in innovation and thinking skills.

His journey in the innovation field led Hiong to becoming part of the founding team that established both UNIK, the special innovation unit for the Prime Minister of Malaysia, and Agensi Inovasi Malaysia, the government agency responsible for spearheading innovation in Malaysia.

Subsequently he was also heavily involved in the creation of Genovasi, Malaysia’s first Design Thinking School, and was appointed as the interim Programme Director to develop both the course curriculum and content, ensure quality of its delivery, and to train others to teach the programme.

Having ventured into Entrepreneurship with his own company, Hiong then went on to manage a tech startup before working in Tanzania for a year, helping with government innovation and transformation consulting.

Hiong met Jon and the Hanno team at Nook, a coworking space in Kuala Lumpur. It was the start of something beautiful. He loves to dance.
